Wherein, the goals of Speech Therapy highly depend on the type and severity of the disorder. Sometimes the goals may be to slow down the progression of the degenerative disorder and sometimes to rehabilitate the individual to best recover to their pre-morbid communication capabilities. In Neurogenic Communication Disorders, time is essential as the spontaneous recovery period of the individual is within one to two years wherein the rate of recovery is fastest.
